MEET Willy Espinosa

Built To Keep Pushing

Willy Espinosa has been around motorsports since he was 14, and drifting stayed on his bucket list from the first time he experienced it. He started driving for fun at the grassroots level in 2010, then moved into competition around 2019. Willy then joined Tire Streets in 2024.

His setup is not exactly shy. Willy’s Mazda RX-7 runs a single-turbo LSX setup making 1000HP, paired with Annovia Kano wheels and an Accelera 651 Sport tire package built around grip, life, and availability.

For him, the 651 improved his program and gave him better performance where it matters most: behind the wheel.

in his words

why tire streets

“I wanted to work with Tire Streets because I enjoyed the staff and what they do for the drivers and the sport. I’m also a fan of the 651 because it improved my program tremendously and gave me better performance in the car.”

No Two Cars Run The Same

Willy’s RX-7 is built to make big power usable. With a single-turbo LSX, 1000HP, and wide tire sizing, the setup is designed for grip, longevity, and stability - but Willy’s approach stays simple: learn car control, don’t rush, and come prepared.

WILLY’S PRO TIP

Don’t Rush The Process

"Learn basic car control before relying on fancy tools. Get as much seat time as you can, be ready mentally and physically, and don’t cut corners.

Bring spares and backups too - even for small stuff like an O2 sensor or basic hardware."

  • Why I Run It: “It gives me the best results for my driving style.”
  • What Changed: “I was running Federal RSRs and other brands before. The 651 gave me better availability, grip, and tire life.”
  • What I’m Pushing For: “The goal is to win, but the setup still has to stay manageable enough to keep making clean, aggressive runs.”
  • How Long It Lasts: “Usually two runs, sometimes three or four if I turn the power down and lower wheel speed.”
  • Where It Performs Best: “It’s a happy medium - enough grip and life to stay aggressive without overcomplicating the car.”
  • Willy's Setup Tip: Buy in bulk, and enjoy it.”
