Taupo New Zealand? Fully sent!
The latest LZ World Tour stop brought the heat with roaring engines, tire smoke, and a truly international podium. New Zealand’s own Ben Jenkins took the top spot in front of a fired-up home crowd, with Ireland’s Duane McKeever and the USA’s Chelsea DeNofa rounding out the podium. Chelsea’s appearance was a wild card—he hopped a flight on short notice and jumped straight into a 9800 RPM rotary S13, wasting no time making his presence known. Meanwhile, Ben delivered a standout performance, locking in the win and solidifying his hometown hero status.
And then there was the rotor battle—10 rotors total, with a 4-rotor Holden going head-to-head with a 6-rotor RX-7. The sound? Unbelievable. The energy? Off the charts. Add in a grid full of drivers absolutely sending it on their 651 SPORTs, and Taupo was left covered in tire smoke and cheering fans. This one wasn’t just a stop on the tour—it was a statement.
LZWT ENGLISHTOWN RECAP
The LZ World Tour stop at E-Town was pure drift mayhem—insane battles, last-minute car swaps, and non-stop action. Jimmy Oakes locked in 4th place, while Chris Rudnick clawed his way out of the Bottom 16 to face Jimmy in the Top 16. Cars were breaking left and right, but the crew hustled through all-nighters to keep them shredding. The McLaren vs. Drift Boat showdown and T-Pain’s Pickle Rick stole the spotlight. We had 8 Tire Streets drivers make the Top 16, proving they’re here to throw down. It was epic watching every driver push limits on the Accelera 651—same tire, different styles, all-out competition. Kicking off the drifting season with an electric crowd made it even better, and we’re just getting started.
